[Disc 1 Story]
June 12, 2003 -- the day when the "Titan" and the "Red Dragon" fell on Shinjuku, Tokyo.
About 50 years after that disaster, a ruined city is covered in salt snow.

Nier, a young boy who lives with his sister, Yona. Having lost their mother, the siblings spend their days wandering the city with nowhere to go.
The siblings, desperately trying to survive, hear an alert issued by an armored vehicle of the Self-Defense Forces.
It was news of the emergence of "Legion," which was supposed to have been wiped out already. Nier and Yona huddle together in anxiety.

Kaine lives with her grandparents in a mansion on a vast site.

Her grandmother, who values the family's formality, is strict and sometimes gets angry and scolds Kaine.

In a house where they should be happy, Kaine is frightened by the black mist that sometimes appears in his heart.

Emil lives with researchers at the National Weapons Research Institute.

He lost his sight in exchange for a special ability, but he still lives bravely, not forgetting his innate cheerfulness.

Nier, Yona, Kaine, and Emil.
Their time together, which had never crossed paths, overlaps due to a certain incident.

Was it a prelude to the future that is soon to come?

[Disc 2 Story]
The year is 2058, and Tokyo is ravaged by the Black Bun Disease. Nier has only one wish.

To find a cure for the disease that is eating away at his younger sister, Yona.

Three months after defeating the Demon King, Kaine continues to hunt monsters.

No matter how many monsters he defeats, his heart and body are still not satisfied.

The soul of a hermaphrodite continues to suffer, feeling that something is missing.

Emil wanders the world alone.

He is attacked by his natural enemy, wild boars, and chased by sheep.

After somehow escaping, a mysterious light appears in front of Emil. The true identity of that light is...

Nier, Kaine, and Emil. Contains three short stories focusing on each of them.

Additional episode, "Private Replicant High School" is also included.
