The PC Engine, launched by NEC in 1987 in Japan, is a fourth-generation video game console. Known as the TurboGrafx-16 in North America, this system was innovative for its time due to its advanced graphics capabilities and compact size. The CD-ROM attachment for the PC Engine, known as the PC Engine CD-ROM² System, was released in 1988, allowing players to enjoy CD-ROM games with enhanced cinematics and soundtracks.
